I have been working at the intersection of data science and engineering for over 30 years. A life-long learner, I hold a PhD in Signal Processing, an M.Eng. degree in Electronic Engineering (Distinction) and an MSc in Data Science (Distinction). I am passionate about extracting insights from large and complex data sets and then working on solving the difficult problems such insights typically reveal. I am highly experienced in researching complex problems, formulating and testing hypothesis, seeking first-principles understanding, developing new algorithms, creating intellectual property, architecting entirely new solutions and implementing, testing and putting into production those solutions in firmware, software or in the cloud. My breadth of knowledge and experience enables me to quickly understand the big picture and identify the factors that will most efficiently lead to the biggest gains given limited resources. I am entirely data driven, highly motivated, detail oriented and a highly effective communicator.

Outside of my work my focus is family, sailing and cycling.
